WEEKLY REPORT FROM COMMANDS: MONDAY 28TH APRIL, 2014.

1. RECOVERY OF WEAPON (‪#‎TARABA‬ STATE): On 20.04.2014 at about 5:00PM, Police Patrol team along Dongo/Wukari/Ibi road intercepted an unregistered Qlink motorcycle with two persons who immediately jumped into the nearby bush and took to their heels abandoning the motorcycle. One AK 49 rifle found attached to motorcycle was recovered. State CID ‪#‎Jalingo‬ is investigating.

2. RECOVERY OF WEAPON (‪#‎RIVERS‬ STATE): On 20.04.2014 at about 11:00PM, upon a distress call that a male individual was using a weapon to threaten some Hotel customers at Transamadi area, Port-Harcourt Police patrol team was immediately dispatched to the scene where one male suspect was arrested and one Magnum Pump Action gun with three (3) cartridges recovered from him. Suspect taken into custody, State CID Port-Harcourt is investigating.

3. RECOVERY OF WEAPON/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (‪#‎BENUE‬ STATE): On 23.04.2014 at about 11:35PM, Police Patrol team opposite Benue Link Motor Park Makurdi pulled over one Toyota Corolla car with reg. No. AA 544 BCH with six (6) occupants for checking. One locally-made Pistol with four (4) rounds of live ammunition was recovered from one of the occupants name Timothy Timbaya ‘m’, a student of Benue State University, three other accompanies among which is a female were arrested. State CID ‪#‎Makurdi‬ is investigating.

4. RECOVERY OF WEAPON/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (RIVERS STATE): On 24.04.2014 at about 9:43AM, upon a tip-off Police arrested five (5) armed suspects at Eliozu, Port-Harcourt. Items recovered from them are; one (1) Pump Action, one (1) double barrel gun, two (2) locally-made revolver pistols, four (4) live cartridges and three (3) .9mm ammunition. State CID Port-Harcourt is investigating.

5. RECOVERY OF WEAPON (RIVERS STATE): On 23.04.2014 at about 3:30PM, Upon information Police raided a house at Ihugbe village in Ahoada East LGA where two (2) AK 47 rifles and seven-hundred and fifty (750) rounds of 7.62 x 39mm live ammunition were recovered. Efforts are being intensified to arrest the depositors of the weapons. State CID Port-Harcourt is investigating.

6. BREACH OF PUBLIC PEACE/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (‪#‎LAGOS‬ STATE): On 22.04.2014 at about 6:30AM Police received a distress call that some members of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) led by one Wasiu Gbadebo ‘m’ and members of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) led by one Dayo Omotolani ‘m’ were engaged in a public fight at Iyana-Ipaja Motor park. Police Patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene where the situation was quickly brought under control. Eight (8) suspects including the ringleaders, the rivalry between the two groups is said to be over one Fausat ‘f’. State CID Panti is investigating.

7. ARREST OF NOTORIOUS WANTED MURDER SUSPECTS (LAGOS STATE): On 24.04.2014 at about 3:30PM, Police arrested three (3) notorious gangster kingpins namely; Adigun Oriyomi ‘m’ alias ‘Muda’, Toba Ajiboye ‘m’ and Yusuf Akinwale ‘m’ at a criminal hideout in Karimu Street ‪#‎Mushin‬. Suspects and others have been causing havoc in Mushin area and environs and where planning to launch an attack on ‪#‎Oshodi‬ area. Manhunts for other gang members are being intensified. State CID Panti is investigating.

8. ARREST OF FAKE POLICE RECRUITMENT FORM SELLER (‪#‎BAYELSA‬ STATE): On 24.04.2014 at about 4:30PM, one male applicant came to State Police Command Headquarters Yenagoa to sign a purported “Police Cadet ASP/INSPECTOR” appointment Forms he claimed to have obtained from Adonal Cyber Cafe Etegwe. Base on the premise that the Nigeria Police is not currently recruiting, Police detectives were dispatched to the said Business Centre where two suspects namely Mathew Oluwaferanimi ‘m’ and Urhiewu James ‘m’ in whose possession several ‪#‎fake‬ Police Cadet ASP/INSPECTOR appointment Forms were recovered. The forms were being sold at the rate of Two thousand Naira (N2,000:00) each to unsuspecting members of the public. State CID ‪#‎Yenagoa‬ is investigating.

9. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (LAGOS STATE): On 26.04.2014 at about 11:55PM, Police patrol team on stop and search at Cowry pin down point Victoria Island flagged down one V/Wagon commercial bus reg.no. APP 291 XG with five (5) occupants for routine search. In the process all occupants jumped down and took to their heels. They were given a hot chase and two of them were arrested. One (1) chief Revolver pistol, one (1) cut-to-size locally-made Pistol with two (2) live cartridges were recovered from the suspects who were going on a robbery operation. State CID Panti is investigating.

10. FOILED ROBBERY/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (‪#‎KATSINA‬ STATE): On 27.04.2014 at about 2:00AM, Police received a distress call that armed cattle rustlers invaded Kabalwa village and rustled unspecified numbers of cows from the owner. Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, the suspects fled upon sighting the Police. One (1) AK 47 rifle abandoned by the hoodlums and all earlier rustled cows were recovered. State CID Katsina is investigating.

11. ARREST OF PIPELINE VANDALS/RECOVERY OF PRODUCTS (‪#‎OGUN‬ STATE): On 27.04.2014 at about 6:30AM, Police patrol team intercepted one Volvo Truck with Reg. No. AAA 310 XL loaded with about Four hundred 25 liters jerry cans of petroleum product. Four (4) suspects led by one Segun Joel Oluwasegun ‘m’ of No. 109 ‪#‎Ondo‬ road, Ijebu Ode were arrested. State CID ‪#‎Abeokuta‬ is investigating.

12. ARREST OF MURDER SUSPECT (BENUE STATE): On 27.04.2014 at about 9:30AM, one Kaankpe Akange ‘m’ and Seember Kaankpe ‘f’ both husband and wife residing at Mbama Mbaivende village, Ushongo LGA engaged themselves in a physical fight which resulted in the death of the husband. The wife has been arrested, State CID Makurdi is investigating.
