Arrest of Armed Robers and Recovery of Weapon, Vehicle in Taraba, Anambra, Edo, Lagos, Kaduna and Abuja

1. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (‪#‎ANAMBRA‬ STATE): On 08.04.2014 at 09.10AM, Upon a distress call from a female victim who beckon at Mobile Policemen on patrol at Nkpor stating that she had just been robbed by a two-man robbery gang, the gang was given a hot chase and in the process one of the suspect was fatally injured while the other arrested having sustained gunshot wounds. One locally made pistol with five (5) rounds of .9mm live ammunition as well as the bag containing money snatched from the victim were recovered from the suspects. State CID ‪#‎Awka‬ is investigating.

2. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERED WEAPON (‪#‎TARABA‬ STATE): On 08.04.2014 at about 07.30PM, A team of Mobile Policemen on patrol at Makeri village Donga in Donga LGA were attacked by a group of armed men. In the ensuing gun battle one of the hoodlums was fatally injured while there other male gang members were arrested with gunshot wounds. Two (2) AK-47 rifles with forty-seven (47) rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects. State CID ‪#‎Jalingo‬ is investigating.

3.ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF WEAPONS (‪#‎EDO‬ STATE): On 12.04.2014 at about 10:00PM, Police patrol team at Ekpoma intercepted a four-man armed robbery gang operating in one Toyota corolla car with reg. no. EDO AFZ 50 AG, the hoodlums who were shooting sporadically around Ekpoma town was given a hot chase; they were caught up with at Uromi. One of the suspects was fatally injured in the exchange of gun fire and another one arrested while others fled into the bush with bullet wounds. One AK47 rifle with five live ammunition, five live cartridges, two wraps of Indian hemp and their operational vehicle recovered. Efforts to arrest other fleeing members of the gang are in progress. 4.ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERED VEHICLE (‪#‎LAGOS‬ STATE): On 13.4.2014 at about 01:40PM, Police received distress call that armed robbers were operating at a house along Dosunmu street Itire, Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. There was a shootout with the hoodlums during which two of the suspects were fatally injured while others fled the scene with gunshot wounds. Some laptops, handsets and other valuable earlier snatched from the victims were recovered as well as one Honda Accord vehicle (Reg No withheld) brought by the hoodlums was recovered. State CID Panti is investigating.

5. RECOVERED WEAPON/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (LAGOS STATE): On 07.04.2014 at about 5:30PM, Police received distress call that a group of youths armed with dangerous weapons were disturbing the peace at Ikate Street, Mushin. Police patrol teams were dispatched to the scene where three male suspects were arrested and two (2) Pump action guns, two cutlasses, and one axe were recovered from the suspect. Normality was restored to the area, no injury reported. State CID Panti-Yaba is investigating.

6. FOILED ROBBERY/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (‪#‎KADUNA‬ STATE): On 08.04.2014 at about 06:00AM, Police patrol team along Kaduna/Birmin-Gwari Road intercepted three (3) hoodlums who specialized in blocking and robbing passengers along the said road. One knife and a machete were recovered from the suspects. State CID Kaduna is investigating.

7. FOILED ATM ROBBERY/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (LAGOS STATE): On 10.04.2014 at about 2:00AM, a five-man armed robbery gang invaded the premises of Fidelity Bank, Birrel Avenue, Sabo-Yaba to vandalized and rob the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) located therein. Mobile Policemen on guard duty engaged the hoodlums in a shootout and in the process; one of the suspects was fatally injured while others fled the scene with bullet wounds. Two (2) AK-47 rifles, eight (8) fully loaded and three (3) empty AK-47 magazines, one (1) gas cylinder and a Toyota Sienna bus (Reg No. withheld) were recovered from the scene. Efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects. State CID Panti is investigating.

8. RECOVERED VEHICLE/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (FCT ‪#‎ABUJA‬): On 10.04.2014 at about 05.45PM, Police Operatives intercepted one male suspect while trying to sell a stolen vehicle; one Hyundai bus with reg. no. BDG 03 CM, at Mia Car stands beside Diamond Bank Nyanya. Vehicle reported stolen in Lagos. FCT CID is investigating.
