Federal Government shut Down Federal Government Colleges in Yobe, Borno, Adamawa

Because of the Boko Haram attacks on schools in the North East, the Federal Government has shut down five Federal Unity Colleges in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states.

Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, communicated the approval in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The decision followed reports submitted by the principals of the unity schools in the three states.
Violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, last Tuesday attacked Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, Yobe State, killing no fewer than 30 students.

Federal Government College, Potiskum
Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe
Federal Science and Technical College, Michika, Adamawa.
The schools that were shut down are:
Federal Government Girls College, Munguno
Federal Science and Technical College, Lassa in Borno

The Minister has approved that candidates that registered for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, the National Examination Council and Basic Education Certificate Examination in FGGC, Potiskum, should have their examination centres relocated to FGGC, Bauchi.
