Job Scam Alert in Givon Petroleum

Job scam in Nigeria is now a very big issue, certain unscrupulous persons posing as recruiters or employers exploit job seekers by offering them attractive employment opportunities which require the job seeker to pay them money in advance, usually under the guise of work in an oil Company.

Anybody that asked you to pay money in the name of offering you a job in an oil company is a fraudster, genuine employer do not collect money from job seeker. I got a mail this morning from a job seeker telling me that one Givon Petroleum is asking him to pay 2500 (Click to see the site), that his name was shortlisted for a job.  I visited the site and found out that the so called oil company site was hosted on blogger with some fake information.

It is advisable to be on your guard of any job offerings which arrive in unsolicited e-mail and eventually requires you to pay a fee in advance
These scammers do internet searches on various companies to obtain hiring managers names. They then advertise job offers on Job Search sites. The job hunter will then apply for the position with a resume.

I was once a victim, after my youth service I was introduce to one Mr. Collins (his phone number 08036746645) in Port Harcourt who collected my CV and promise to help me secure a job in one of the shell location as a stock keeper for one catering company. He organized test/interview for us in one of the Genesis Fast food in Port Harcourt, after the test they asked us to pay 14,000 for Personal protective equipment (PPE), after the payment the story changed, they even asked us to pay 500 after two weeks.
