Job Responsibilities

    The Site Mechanical Supervisor will be a professional to follow the day-to-day activities on site, making sure the progress is being completed according to approved drawings and approved material submitted.
    This position will use planning, monitoring and controlling processes, to ensure completion of projects on time and according to budget by setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring and communicating project progress.
    In addition to reading, analyzing and implementing maps, the successful candidate will supervise and coordinate activities of workers/subcontractors installing, repairing, and inspecting field electrical equipment making sure it is compliant with government electrical codes and company standards.
    Plan installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
    Plan wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, as well as control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
    Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
    Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to specifications or local electrical codes.
    Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
    Repair faulty equipment or systems.
    Study schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
    Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
    Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules.
    Recommend measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
    Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
    Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
    Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials

Job Requirements

    Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of education from a well reputed university.
    Strong professional background with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
    Minimum of 8 years of experience in a managerial position in electro-mechanical construction projects.
    Experience in Africa preferred.
    Proven administrative, leadership and management ability in the area of project management, business development and/or tendering.
    Proficient in AutoCAD
    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint).
    Proficient in Project Planning tools.
    Must be adept in the use of Internet and E-mail.
    Fluent in English and French
